چکیده
In article number 2007051, Shuo Shi, Chunyan Dong, and co-workers present a stimuli-responsive multifunctional anti-tumor nanoplatform. Its photothermal effect ablates local tumor cells while strengthening infiltration of T lymphocytes. The released AUNP-12 PQ912 remarkably relieve both the innate adaptive immunosuppression in microenvironment. synergized dual immune checkpoint blockading therapy might open new insights eliminating breast cancer. Just like scene famous Chinese novel “The Pilgrimage to West”, god—Sun Wukong cleverly restores “heat” microenvironment conjuring two eagles taking “cold dragon” away finally burning monster.

Macrophage Polarization Contributes to Glioblastoma Eradication by Combination Immunovirotherapy and Immune Checkpoint Blockade.
Glioblastoma is an immunosuppressive, fatal brain cancer that contains glioblastoma stem-like cells (GSCs). Oncolytic herpes simplex virus (oHSV) selectively replicates in cancer cells while inducing anti-tumor immunity. oHSV G47Δ expressing murine IL-12 (G47Δ-mIL12), antibodies to immune checkpoints (CTLA-4, PD-1, PD-L1), or dual combinations modestly extended survival of a mouse glioma model....
متن کاملCombination Approaches with Immune-Checkpoint Blockade in Cancer Therapy
In healthy individuals, immune-checkpoint molecules prevent autoimmune responses and limit immune cell-mediated tissue damage. Tumors frequently exploit these molecules to evade eradication by the immune system. Over the past years, immune-checkpoint blockade of cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 and programed death-1 emerged as promising strategies to activate antitumor cytotoxic T cell response...
متن کاملImmune Checkpoint Blockade in Cancer Therapy.
Immunologic checkpoint blockade with antibodies that target cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4) and the programmed cell death protein 1 pathway (PD-1/PD-L1) have demonstrated promise in a variety of malignancies. Ipilimumab (CTLA-4) and pembrolizumab (PD-1) are approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of advanced melanoma, and additional regulatory appr...
متن کاملPhotothermal therapy with immune-adjuvant nanoparticles together with checkpoint blockade for effective cancer immunotherapy
A therapeutic strategy that can eliminate primary tumours, inhibit metastases, and prevent tumour relapses is developed herein by combining adjuvant nanoparticle-based photothermal therapy with checkpoint-blockade immunotherapy. Indocyanine green (ICG), a photothermal agent, and imiquimod (R837), a Toll-like-receptor-7 agonist, are co-encapsulated by poly(lactic-co-glycolic) acid (PLGA). The fo...
متن کاملImmunogenic chemotherapy sensitizes non-small cell lung cancer to immune checkpoint blockade therapy in preclinical models
Background: Lung cancer is the top common cancer and cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Checkpoint blockade immunotherapies have shown extraordinarily anti-tumor effects, but only benefit the minority of patients whose tumors are pre-infiltrated by CD8+ T cells. However, the majority of solid tumors, including lung cancer are not immunogenic and CD8+ T cell infiltration is inconspicuous. ...
